About me

Hi, my name is Rahul and I am an interdisciplinary researcher working at the intersection of household energy transitions, sustainability, and human welfare. Through my research, I aim to provide scientific and data-driven policy interventions to reduce energy inequities and help people realize their energy-related aspirations. 

Short Bio: I am currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at Manipal Academy of Higher Education, Manipal and a PhD student under the advisement of Dr. Balachandra Patil in the Department of Management Studies at the Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru. I expect to complete my PhD by the end of 2024. Prior to enrolling for my PhD, I received my MS in Civil Engineering with a focus on systems analysis in 2014 from The Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, USA and a MS in Civil and Environmental Engineering with a focus on materials, mechanics, and computing from Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, USA in 2012. I received my Bachelors in Civil Engineering from Manipal Institute of Technology, Manipal, India in 2011. 

In my free time, I like to bird, record wildlife, run, and cycle.
